In the past five years, we have dealt with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, unstable management and unsafe working conditions. Now, we are facing skyrocketing inflation, pool closure and temporary layoffs, and uncertainty about job security and employment opportunities.

This year, we are bargaining for a better Collective Agreement. Now is the chance to have your say!

What does that mean?

Every five years, our Collective Agreement is renegotiated to make sure we can protect our rights, fight for better working conditions, and receive fair wages!

What have we been doing?

The Lifeguards Representative (Megan Coutinho), the 2626-1 Stewards (Olivia Lamontagne-Kratz, Grace Valdron, and Roberto Callarotti Gioia) and a group of other employees have been working on a preliminary review of the current Collective Agreement to identify shortcomings and recommend changes that would address members’ concerns and interests. Official negotiations with the University will begin in September, 2023.

How can you help?

It is time for YOU to determine the bargaining priorities for this round, so SHARE YOUR VOICE! Fill out our Bargaining Survey by clicking here.

TOGETHER we can work towards a fair and equitable Collective Agreement!
