Happy New Year and welcome back to campus! We hope you are all settling well into the winter term.
Your Bargaining Committee is currently in negotiations for a better Collective Agreement for Academic Workers. Our first meeting at the bargaining table was on Friday, January 13, 2023. We had our first exchange of proposals and made our priorities clear. Negotiations are continuing on a regular basis, and we are committed to fighting for better working conditions! We will keep you posted as negotiations progress.
As a Member of CUPE 2626, it’s important to keep up to date on the bargaining process. If you missed your previous FAQ, you can read it here. Together, we can win fair wage increases, secure better benefits, and protect our right to a safe and healthy workplace. We are counting on you!
To help support the bargaining process, here are some actions you can take today:
- Tell your friends and colleagues to subscribe to the CUPE 2626 Newsletter and follow CUPE 2626 on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
- Connect with your Department’s Steward(s) if you have any questions or want to get involved. If your Department does not have a Steward, reach out to the Anglophone Steward Representative to learn about becoming a Steward.
- Come to Coffee with CUPE, featuring members of the Bargaining Committee, in February! More to come on this event.
- If you have any questions or concerns about the bargaining process, please reach out to the Bargaining Commitee.
