CUPE 2626 helped a member win a letter from Dean Mérette (Social Sciences) stating that an improper evaluation was not and will not be placed on the member’s employee file.
The evaluation was made without giving the member an opportunity to discuss the results of the evaluation or develop their skills, and recommended disciplinary action at a stage meant to be informal and geared toward improving the quality of teaching. We are pleased to have helped secure this confirmation from the dean without requiring formal arbitration. We encourage you to find out more about your rights under the Collective Agreement regarding informal and formal evaluations (Article 16).
