March 8 is International Women’s Day. For this occasion, the Solidarity Against Austerity Workers Action Group and the Philippine Migrant Society of Canada (PMSC) are organizing the Women Workers Speak Out! event. During this event, women workers in Ottawa will share stories of precarious work and courageous resistance. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate their resistance and to discuss building a militant labour and solidarity movement in Ottawa.
And, on March 9, don’t miss The Arts & Women’s Rights, presented by the uOttawa Human Rights Research and Education Centre. The event will feature four artists, who will explore contemporary issues related to women’s rights through an exhibition, performance and/or discussion of their artistic work.
