Following the Ratification Referendum which took place from September 16 to September 18, 2014, CUPE 2626 is proud to announce that the agreement in principle between the Union and the Employer (the University of Ottawa) for a new Collective Agreement (2013-2016) has been ratified (see below).
Ratification Referendum Results
92 members voted from September 16 to September 18. The results are:
- 83 voted « In Favour » of the agreement in principle (90.2% of total votes);
- 1 « Against » (1.1% of total votes);
- 0 abstentions (0% of total votes);
- 8 ballots were invalidated (8.7% of ballots) by the Referendum Officer during counting.
Thank you to everyone who came to vote (please note that there was no minimum participation threshold). We are proud of this new Agreement which will protect our members for the years to come, and act as a cornerstone for the subsequent round of bargaining.
New Collective Agreement
Following the ratification of the agreement in principle by the Union and the Employer (the University ratified the agreement on September 17), the new Collective Agreement is now in effect. The provisions of the Collective Agreement will be implemented retroactively in the next 90 days. The text of the new Collective Agreement will also be available in the next 90 days, following the review and translation of the various articles.
