uOttawa Students Denounce Pattern of Harassment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 28, 2014, Ottawa. For years, University of Ottawa students have been subjected to widespread harassment, discrimination and intimidation at the hands of certain faculty members whom the university is unable, or unwilling, to control. Students are losing out on important educational, employment and learning opportunities, and suffering irreparable harm, because of the University’s failure to uphold their own standards and policies. Today, alongside CUPE 2626, Joseph Roy and Shelagh Roxburgh are courageously standing up to the bullying and telling their stories. They are demanding the University immediately and fully implement its existing harassment policy, and take action to protect vulnerable students.

The press conference will take place today at 11am on May 28 2014 in FSS 4006 (Faculty of Social Sciences Building, 120 University).
