Mental Health in Academia
CUPE 2626 is hosting a presentation on mental health in academia on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
The presentation will be held bi-modally, both on Zoom and in FSS 1005. There will be snacks and refreshments provided.
Registration is required to participate.
The event will be presented by Jennifer Trewin (Jenny), a registered psychotherapist who has been working for over 3 years in the field. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Trent University and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In her work with adults and adolescents, she focuses on helping others to understand and accept their emotions and behaviours, so they can better process and tolerate difficult emotions and live their lives more intentionally.

The presentation will cover topics such as what factors contribute to the mental health of students, how differing circumstances can affect students in distinct ways, and tips on how to take care of your own mental health as well as ways to support others in crisis.
