The Grievance Committee (GC) 

The Grievance Committee is in charge of handling the union’s grievances. It is made up of the following members: 

  • Vice-President 
  • Anglophone and Francophone Steward Representatives
  • A regular Member in Good Standing
  • President
  • Lifeguard Representative
  • Residence Life Representative

Our National Representative and Legal Coordinator is also present during the Grievance Committee meeting to provide support and advice, but do not have voting power. Grievors may be invited to attend a Grievance Committee meeting if their presence is deemed necessary for the advancement of their case. 

The Vice-President is in charge of the Grievance Committee and chairs the meetings. The Anglophone and Francophone Representatives are the first point of contact for grievances, and use the Grievance Committee meetings to discuss active cases and their progress.

Communications and Mobilization Committee (CMC) 

The Communications and Mobilization Committee is responsible for preparing internal communications with members such as the Newsletter and conducting mobilization initiatives with members and different groups on and off campus. This committee is made up of the following members: 

  • Vice-President
  • Liaison Officer
  • Equity & Education Officer
  • Lifeguard Representative
  • Residence Life Representative 

The Vice-President chairs the meetings, and ensures the running and completion of tasks. Other Executive Board members may be invited to share ideas and project ideas.

Financial Committee (FC) 

The Finance Committee holds multiple important roles. They are responsible for administering Financial Aid Funds, reviewing Reimbursement funds and Conference Fund Application, reviewing the budget, and preparing membership fee documents for our employer. This committee is made up of the following members: 

  • Secretary-Treasurer
  • Two (2) Executive Board members 
  • Three (3) Stewards’ Council members

The Secretary-Treasurer is responsible for chairing the Finance Committee and ensuring the duties of the finance committee are being performed.
